Very few flowers have the grandeur of the rose. These soft cream-colored roses remind me of pearls in the way that they reflect light. It seemed fitting to photograph them on a piece of embroidered silk with pearls. The color and texture of the petals varied as the sun went down, highlighting their luminescence. I love to photograph near dusk...
The ones I pick are never quite so perfect either :) I wish they were... These are from the florist at our market. He always has a lovely selection of roses.
