It's that beautiful time of year again when the pomegranates begin to ripen and are ready for harvest. My husband brings out the tall ladder and climbs up to get them while I prepare the patio where they will sit in the sun a bit longer turning red before we distribute them to family and friends.
It is clearly harvest time! The outdoor table is currently covered with these bright beauties along side a salad bowl of red lettuce and some broccoli seedlings I will be planting.
Soon the patio garden is filled with pomegranates. Often I dry some to use as Christmas decorations since they are lovely mixed into evergreen foliage and wreaths near the holidays. The seeds are also delicious in salads!
It has been so busy lately that I've had little time to post but you'll be hearing more from me soon. I hope you are all having a wonderful fall. Enjoy!

Oh wow! Look at how many pomegranates you have! My grandma used to make the best pomegranate jelly... It's a good way to preserve them if you can't eat all of those!
ReplyDeleteThat is a great idea Angelina. My friend makes jelly with her pomegranates and it is always delicious. This year I'll have to get the recipe from her for sure! Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteSliced fennel, apple, pomegranate with a squeeze of lime juice. Best salad ever. I am so jealous in the nicest way.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds so good! Tangy, sweet and crunchy... I can tell you're a great cook. Thanks for visiting my blog and for the salad inspiration.
